As digital marketing manager for Bolton at Home, a housing
association, I’m responsible for managing the website, intranet and social
media along with other digital projects that come up.
A lot of confusion has been caused so far in Manila about
why a housing association have a marcomms department but we don’t work in the
traditional marketing way. Instead we work on internal and external
communications around news, updates and policy, helping to engage staff,
stakeholders and our housing colleagues. The marketing aspect comes through
campaigns around issues such as welfare reform and getting back to work. These
are generally about awareness raising and signposting to services.
In my spare time I volunteer with a small charity called the
Refugee Welcome Trust which helps to support refugees in the UK as they
exercise their right to family reunion.
Whilst I’m here I’ll be going my best to update my personal
blog – WiFi permitting!
